Ang titser na di musunod ug order, angay bang sundun?Dili
The government has issued an order regarding the non-collection of fees and other incidental charges in public schools in order to encourage participation in education of families.Specific orders were sent to our leaders in the Education Department regarding the school uniforms that it should not be required and that Identification Cards of students must not be at students’ expense but are chargeable against the respective Maintenance, Operational and Other Expenses (MOOE) of the schools.
The Department Order signed by the Secretary of Education was simply worded by Sec. Lapus. Even schoolchildren can easily digest and understand the memo but our teachers and schools seem to reading it the other way.
Is it that they do not understand simple English or are they just stubbornly cute? Or is it because most of them are too enterprising and business oriented that they include poor students and families amongst their prey, helpless as they are. Or is it because the superintendents don’t give a damn, especially so that one superintendent here is afraid of facing the media and the order was addressed to them and not to principals?
Whatever their reasons are, it is unessential. The order is there, face it. Follow it, no matter who, no matter what. You are teachers, you get angry when you are not followed.
What is happening now is, teachers can’t seem to follow simple instructions, more like Grade 1. Teachers are blinded of what, we don’t know.
AGAIN, IT IS SIMPLE. YOU WANT RESPECT AS TEACHER? FOLLOW SIMPLE ORDERS THEN WE SHALL FOLLOW YOU, TOO. YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE MODELS, not evils!

PUBLIC OFFICIALS, FOR YOUR SKIN!
Public officials can be a target for scorn and criticisms, day in and day out. Naturally, as humans, endowed with emotions, they may be angered, saddened, others elated because they view the attack as natural and constructive. But, in our locality, it is usually anger and rage.
Just like what we heard from our story regarding the Agora, while such story is true, it is found as a need for society to give the wake up call as we believe it is our sublime duty to speak and be a representative of the voice of the many whom our officials often do not take heed.
A piece of advice to our politicians, you are there because you chose such career. Ergo, it is a must that you should not be too onion skinned to quickly react on matters of public concern.
You are there because you chose to be in the center of things, you chose to be elected thus, you are public property. It really is a sacrifice you know.
If you cannot take the heat, quit.
We appreciate your comments but we need actions not words. We appreciate your reactions but what we need are answers in paper and not words that flow with the wind, gone in a moment or so. We appreciate your presence but what we need is a working presence, not just someone who gives orders.
Public service indeed bites. Should we see a tinge of truth to issues, we discuss, we write, no matter what the cost. That is what the mass media is all about. That is what the Pagadian Tribune is all about, to seek truth, to be a speaker for the many and not to be abused by the moneyed few.
